FAMILY-
OWNED
OUR COMPANY HAS BEEN FAMILY-OWNED FOR OVER 100 YEARS.
THIS HAS ENABLED IT TO DEVELOP A STRONG PERSONALITY WITH CLEAR
PRINCIPLES.
As an example, the focus has never been on achieving success as quickly as possible, but rather on product perfection, customer satisfaction, the freshness of the Neuburger and other values. Success has come as a result of this, not the other way around.
Being family-owned allows us to develop virtues that are unique in the production of branded goods. For example, we would never replace manual labour with machines if this meant the product would lose its flavour. Today, we would of course be technically capable of producing the Neuburger without manual labour – but it just would not have the same delicious taste.
Our unwavering commitment to our product has secured us many new customers. We will therefore continue to do our best to produce an exceptional food product. We, that is, Hermann Neuburger and his employees.
THE HISTORY OF
THE NEUBURGER
EVERY ERA HAS ITS FAVOURITES. THE PEOPLE OF THE MÜHLVIERTEL REGION
HAVE BEEN LOVING THE DELICIOUS NEUBURGER FROM ULRICHSBERG SINCE 1948.
THEY ARE STILL AMAZED ABOUT ITS OUTSTANDING TASTE AND THE LUXURIOUS QUALITY OF ITS INGREDIENTS.
Over 100 years ago, the Neuburger family moved from the village of Fürstenhut in Bohemia to Ulrichsberg in the Mühlviertel region of northern Upper Austria. They first established a farm, and in 1919 their son opened a butcher’s shop. In the next generation, from 1945 onwards, they also traded cattle as far away as Vienna. Hermann Neuburger, Senior (born 1925) completed an education and training at the renowned and, for its time, very progressive butchery school in Augsburg, Germany. With his head full of new ideas, he developed the Neuburger recipe in Ulrichsberg in 1948.
The people of Ulrichsberg immediately loved his invention bearing the same name, the Neuburger. Hermann Neuburger later also established stores in nearby Aigen, Julbach and Klaffer. Production soon had to be expanded, new machines were purchased and the sales rooms were gradually redesigned. Hermann Neuburger concentrated on his successful butcher’s shop. The farm was no longer operated.
In 1986, Hermann Neuburger, Junior took over the company. He concentrated on the Neuburger, leased out the retail business and discontinued the production of the remaining sausage products. Distribution was soon expanded to Vienna and Salzburg.
Since 1995, the unique Neuburger has been available throughout Austria and, since March 2009, also in Germany. Its outstanding freshness and incomparable taste are currently ensured by over 60 employees who give their best in the modern meat processing plant from 5 a.m. every day. Neuburger wants to achieve nothing but excellence.
